Concours events combine high-level judging with premium presentation standards. Planning travel and logistics early makes the season smoother for participants and spectators.
Notable event types
- Historic concours with classic and pre-war classes.
- Modern exotic showcases with curated judging criteria.
- Regional concours weekends with lifestyle and sponsor activations.
Season highlights
- Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance (Monterey, CA) - the standard against which every concours is measured.
- Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance (FL) - the season opener with deep racing history classes.
- Hilton Head Island Motoring Festival (SC) - concours plus a full weekend of driving events.
- Glenmoor Gathering (OH) - built-machine and classic classes in a resort setting.
Planning notes
- Review entry deadlines, class requirements, and transport options early - concours entries close months ahead.
- Book lodging the moment your entry is confirmed; resort towns sell out.
- If you are hosting your own judged event, publish your rubric and schedule clearly to improve attendee confidence - see how to judge a car show.
- Spectator tickets for the biggest events also sell out - buy early.
Concours is the top of the judging pyramid. If you are building toward it, start with local judged shows and work up - the score sheets use the same fundamentals.
